cat 4 scanners are essential tools for construction sites. It can detect the type and location of underground buried utilities which generate signals. It has a StrikeAlert mode option which quickly alerts you to the presence of shallow buried utilities. It is lightweight and its ABS high impact casing rated to IP54 for use in all weather conditions.
It has a detachable loudspeaker and can remove the CAT4 in noisy environments. It is dynamically overload protected. Its locator feels ergonomic and well balanced in hand. The screen is easy to read and uncluttered, with only a bar graph, signal strength and mode of operation visible. A depth reading is possible if you press a small yellow button present just underneath the screen.
If you want high accuracy make sure the sensor is driven without moisture to ensure detection accuracy and sensitiveness.
