The RS Pro 665-7466 is a self-regulating trace heating kit designed to protect pipes from freezing and maintain flow in cold conditions. It delivers 20 W per meter over a total length of 20 m and runs directly on a 240 V supply. This type of heating kit is typically used on water pipes, drain lines, and industrial pipework where low temperatures can cause blockages or damage.
This trace heating cable automatically adjusts its heat output based on the surrounding temperature. When the temperature drops, the cable's heat output increases. When the temperature rises, it reduces power on its own.
The 20 m length allows coverage of extended pipe sections without splicing. The cable can be cut to length during installation, making it flexible for different layouts and pipe sizes. It is typically installed directly along the pipe and then insulated to improve performance.
It is mainly utilised to prevent freezing rather than process heating, keeping systems operational during cold weather.
