The ABL Sursum integral sockets in black colour are produced from highly durable thermoplastic socket outlets that are suitable to be used with type-G, 3-pin UK plugs. These sockets come with a current rating of 13A and a voltage rating of 250V. The property that makes them splash-proof when being is the quadruple flange fastening and a cover flap. Additionally, they have a cover lid which increases the child protection features that are important for places with children.
The Type G plug is commonly known as a plug with a current rating of 13A. In technical terms, the Type-G plugs are also known as BS 1363 or British 13 A/230-240 V 50 Hz earthed and fused. For safety purposes in the UK, shutters over the live and neutral connections are required in home sockets to comply with safety regulations. When a longer earth pin is inserted, these shutters are opened. These shutters play an important role in ensuring that only compatible plugs are used and eliminate the use of incompatible plugs made according to different standards. It is often possible to use a screwdriver to open the shutters and insert a Type-C plug, but this is not advised as these plugs will not consist of a fuse.
