I've been welding bullet hinges for 13 years and have never seen an aluminum one until now. Hundreds of steel and 1 time a set of 316 stainless steel, quite slippery. But these aluminum ones are cousins my friend, the shaft is stainless which is the only thing it really needs to be strong. The material welded well, therefore. And aluminum can be hit or miss, some things just can't be welded. I don't know the alloy, but this material was welded as 6061. I'm not a good AL welder. 13 years of welding mainly steel and stainless. This is a great price for the zipper, I've bought a couple of sets.
