An FTDI USB to serial/parallel development board is a high-quality module for the FT232H that acts as an interface for data transfer for a range of interfaces.
The FTDI chip USB to serial development board is based on the FT232H single channel USB UART or FICO module and is designed to add USB functionality to various projects. This is a USB to Serial/Parallel Development Board for FT232H manufactured by FTDI Chip. The manufacturer part number is UM232H. Featured Device ft232h. The kit is classified as a development board. This chip is a single interface IC, allowing configuration to transfer data over UART, FT1248, SPI, GPIO, and I²C interfaces. With the UM232H, it is possible to convert high-speed USB 2.0 to a serial or parallel interface and connect it to an 18-pin female receptacle with a 2.00 mm pitch. Moreover, the module plugs into a USB host connector and does not require any USB connector. This development board is 5V tolerant and operates at +3.3V.
Applications Information:
This development board's FTDI chip is widely used to integrate USB with applications, including wireless modems, medical uses, bar code readers, and smart card readers.
How to Connect UM232H?
This module plugs directly into the DIP-28 socket with a width of 0.6 inches, where an onboard mini-USB socket connects it to the host.

Wow, this board is amazing, and it's a great little board. I had this kind of different brand parallax dash. It was very difficult to program and use, but SO easy to understand and program. I've tried java script and I'm not very good at it (I just copy codes and change some numbers and interface details), but with this I understand and memorize the code very easily! Highly recommended for beginners and experts (I'm 13, 14 or 15, can't reveal my age online) and absolutely love it. On instructables there was an 11 year old boy who made a fart detector with an LED bar graph for how bad it was - it's so easy to use. Arrived early and works great. 20 out of 5 stars!
