RS PRO 10 → 60 W Light Transformer, 230 → 240 V AC, 11.5 V
This mini light transformer from the RS PRO range is suitable for use with 12 V halogen lamps. It protects the lamp from overheating, short-circuiting and voltage overloads.
When combined with a dimmer switch, the transformer allows for two methods of light dimming. Leading-edge dimming gives a constant lumens output and brightness. Trailing-edge dimming lets you manually change the brightness through controlling the current. It has threaded slots for screws so you can easily secure it to a wall, and it has compact dimensions of 86 mm (L) x 31 mm (W) x 30 mm (D).
The transformer has undergone stringent testing for safety and quality. It's IP20 rated, so it's safe enough to be touched. It complies with EN61347-2-2 standards for AC/DC voltage step-down in transformers and offers Class II rating against electric shock.
This light transformer is commonly found in domestic applications involving halogen lamps, paired with a dimmer switch.
