Audio Transformers

Audio transformers are essential components used to enhance sound quality by removing noise and interference from audio signals. Ground noise, caused by voltage fluctuations from nearby devices, produces a characteristic humming or buzzing sound. They are usually enclosed in a magnetic cover filled with epoxy resin to provide insulation, secure the windings, and avoid vibration of the central material. Audio transformers may be designed without a centre tap or include one on the primary side, the secondary side, or both windings. The square of the winding turns ratio determines its impedance ratio. They are pivotal in impedance matching, signal isolation and noise reduction.
