RS PRO Low Profile ESD Grounding Cord 10 mm, 4.5 m Straight
This ESD (electrostatic discharge) grounding cord from RS PRO is an antistatic device used to safely connect components in an electrostatic protected area (EPA). That can include linking a person working on sensitive electronic equipment to a grounded connection. This channels electrostatic discharge to the grounded point, protecting personnel and equipment from harmful electric shocks.
The grounding wire consists of a 4.5-metre straight cord, terminating in a conical head with a 1 megaohm (MΩ) resistor. The low-profile head shape means it's less likely to be accidentally knocked loose. The conductor is a strong 7-strand tinsel wire with a 2.4 mm polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sheath, which provides excellent electrical insulation. The wire connects to an ESD safety mat via a 10 mm ring.
You can use this ESD grounding cord in industrial or commercial applications, such product or machine assemblies, where electrostatic discharge is a cause for concern.
