Ok, first of all, this just takes up one space in the socket. It's small, so you can have something else plugged into the other socket, which is how it should be. I bought these for a friend who recently moved to Canada and thought she might need some. I was correct in assuming that, and they arrived with nothing but all of their electronics using different plugs from Canada. They said they worked and they don't get hot or have any noise or have a problem plugging things in or plugging the converter into the wall. The price was correct. I highly recommend it
