What is a Loctite Retaining Compound Liquid?

The Loctite retaining compound liquid (50ml) is a high-strength liquid containing urethane methacrylate, designed for fitting cylinder gaskets. This material hardens when stuck in the vacuum of the metal surface that adheres to it, preventing loosening and leakage due to shock and vibration.

It works on active metals (mild steel) and non-ferrous materials such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. Furthermore, this liquid offers splendid performance under high temperatures and is oil-tolerant. In addition, it allows micro-contamination with various oils such as cutting, lubricating, anti-corrosion, and protection fluids.

How can I test it?

Testing should be done prior to contact with styrene, acrylic, and polycarbonate-based plastics to ensure compatibility.

    The Loctite 648 I received was made about 6 months ago. It has a duration of 24 months. So it's not that bad. When I have used it, the results have been as expected. I'm using it to anchor some steel bushings that some bearings are pressed into. So far it works as expected. I don't think I will have any problems with this project! It always works if you know how to use it. I highly recommend this great product.
