Relays allow a low current circuit to control one or more high power circuits. The thinner cables of the finder 5 pin relay socket can be used to control the connect switch to the relay thereby saving weight, space and cost. The relay allows power to be routed to a device over the shortest distance, thereby reducing voltage loss.
For those who find themselves replacing old relay sockets or building their own relay harnesses, the finder relay socket might be the solution they need. Another application of relay socket is switching a high current circuit using a lower current circuit. This is useful where an in-line switch doesn’t have the capacity to handle the current required. Another benefit of relay is saving money. As high current capacity wiring and switches cost more than lower capacity versions, so by using the relays the requirement for high cost components is minimized. More than one circuit can be activated by one or more relays then complete one or more other circuits.
