The C14 socket is the most prevalent wiring harness used for electrical equipment in data center server racks. These plugs offer an excellent, secure, and stable solution for many applications, such as desktop computers, monitors, or printers. This IEC C14 socket variant has a rewireable cable mount input connectors with a nylon-6 body. IEC plugs with tinned copper alloy mating contacts and screw terminals are rated at 10A (VDE) and 15A (UL, CSA), 250Vac.

The C14 plug is safe to operate with equipment operating at temperatures up to 70°C and cannot be used for high-temperature power applications such as plumbing. Additionally, although the plug can withstand temperatures up to 70 °C, it is not waterproof in all circumstances and is not recommended for outdoor use.
