British Standard Pipe Thread (BSPT) has threads tapered with a 55-degree angle. Of these two products i.e. 3/4 to 1/2 reducer; a ¾ inch BSPT Male reducer is a plug and has a pin for the solid conductor. A ½ inch BSPP Female reducer. A BSPP is a British Standard Parallel Pipe that has parallel threads. A male reducer has a series of pins that originate from a small base. Female connectors on the other hand are attached to hardware, wires or cable. Male threads are external, similar to that of a bolt. A female reducer thread is internal like that of a nut.
There are two types of reducer threaded fittings; the male and female versions. Another type of reducer fittings are pipes with flares. The female is attached to the pipe using a specialized flaring tool. The flaring tool is either made of plastic or brass. It is usually soldered inside of the house couplings. The female connector contains threads on the inner side and acts as a nut. A reducer threaded fitting has a single outlet.
Durable, perfect fit. Just what I needed. Highly Recommended!
