Lenses are clear or diffused surfaces designed to provide the light diffusion emitted from a lamp or LED source. The LED lenses use single or multiple LEDs that sit over the LED to create the desired lighting effect. They offer a remarkable appearance by covering the internal LED equipment. They also come in various colours, including amber, black, frosted, green, blue, clear, red, white, ivory, orange, and yellow, with several LEDs per lens with multiple ranges.
Available Optics-Lenses
We house three families of secondary LED optics: lenses, reflectors, optics, and holder kits.
What Types of Shapes and Sizes are Available?
LED lenses to come in various shapes and sizes, including square, round, and hexagonal.
Materials of the LED Lenses
Common lens materials from the optoelectronics family include plastic and silicone, which are therefore rigid and flexible.
What are Reflectors?
LED reflectors are an inexpensive and easy-to-use solution for lighting that sits above the LEDs and redirects light from the light source. They are smooth or multifaceted inside and come in various shapes. However, they do not offer as much control as LED lenses. Reflectors are designed from plastic or metal coated. This enables them to create a range of lighting effects. In addition, some reflectors comprise sub-lens for additional diffusion or light control.
Optic and Holder Kits
The LED optic and holder kits comprise the LED reflector and lens with a holder. They are also referred to as reflector kits or lens assemblies. The holder is designed to hold the LED in place and provide a mechanical cut-off shield to enhance its performance. The lens or reflector twists on top and is easy to install.
Applications of Optics-Lenses (LED)
These optics-lenses from the optoelectronics family are extensively used in various applications, including:
- Arrays
- Asymm. Street Lighting
- Europe Specific Lighting
- Medium Pole Distances
- Moderate Street Width
- Narrow Streets
- Pedestrian Walkways
- Spotlights.
