Power Management Integrated Circuits, Light Emitted Diodes abbreviated as (PMIC LED drivers) are electronic components that regulate the current and voltage delivered to an LED or LED bulb. An LED lamp is a type of light made up of several LEDs arranged in an active electrical circuit. The driver controls both current and voltage to ensure appropriate functioning while matching the voltage and current demands of the circuit.
Two terminal semiconductor devices are light-emitting diodes or LEDs. Thermoluminescence is the process of photons being released from the PN-junction of an LED when a current passes across it. The material utilized determines the parameters of the semiconductor's energy band gap, which determines the LED's colour.
Purpose of PMIC - LED Drivers
The purpose of these PMICs is to transfer controlled current from a power source with a technically fixed voltage to a load, usually to a light-emitting diode. The Primary Rate Interface (PRI) voltage, from which LED drivers draw their power, is the main AC power source. The driver rectifies this main voltage to create a steady DC voltage on the secondary (SEC) side to operate the LED bulb. In order to step down the main high voltage to a lower voltage for the LED lamp, LED drivers can utilize large iron core transformers (for instance, 12V). Due to their lower price and compact form factor, power inverters are used by most houses to reduce the voltage for LED lamps.

Applications of PMIC-LED Drivers
LED drivers are manufactured to fulfil most of the industry standards. Regarding applications of these integrated circuits, some PMIC-LED Drivers are utilized in Digitized Clocks, counters, cameras, and smartphones, while other PMIC LED Drivers are used in MP3 and CD/DVD players.
