Hirose EnerBee DF22 Series 7.92mm High Current PCB Header Connectors These DF22 Series 7.92 mm wire to board high current internal power supply header connectors are part of the EnerBee range. The DF22 series has a maximum current capacity of 30A when used with 10 AWG wire. The housings of these DF22 7.92 mm headers feature a robust positive locking mechanism designed to prevent accidental unmating caused by drops or external shocks. When mated, a clear, tactile click is produced which confirms the connector is fully engaged guaranteeing a complete electrical and mechanical connection. This positive locking mechanism is on the centre of the housing which enables even locking and prevents cable entanglement that side locks can cause. Having locks on the side also offers space saving on the PCB enabling high density side by side mounting. The housing design also features various keying options to prevent incorrect insertion to the mating connector when connectors are used with the same number of positions. Guide posts are incorporated that help with accurate placement and orientation on the PCB and to prevent reverse insertion. The contacts of these DF22 PCB header connectors are separated by walls inside the housing giving them electrical isolation from adjacent contacts preventing short circuits. These DF22 header connectors accept resin sealing up to 10 mm without any effect on their performance. This sealing offers protection against dust and moisture penetration. With the ability to carry up to 5A of current, Micro-Fit 3.0 connectors have one of the highest current carrying abilities in the smallest footprints available. These Micro-Fit 3.0 PCB headers incorporate positive latching in the form of a locking ramp on the housing for secure mating and to prevent accidental disconnection. The housings are made of high-temperature UL 94V-0 Liquid Crystal Polymer that can withstand temperatures of up to 265°C during the IR reflow soldering process. To secure these Micro-Fit 3.0 SMT headers to the PCB board, solder tabs are incorporated into the connector design. The contacts of these Micro-Fit 3.0 headers are fully isolated within the housings to reduce arcing. Tin or a choice of two thicknesses of gold contact platings are available to keep down costs.
