Jumper Wires, Pre-Crimped Leads

A jumper, or jumper wire, is simply a wire with connection pins on both ends, ideal for connecting two items/points without a soldering process. Setting the jumper wire in the circuit can control the voltage, stop the circuit operation, and work in circuits that are difficult to operate with the same circuit wire. It's a very useful tool to have on hand, especially when doing DIY electrical projects or prototyping. These yarns make the hoop as simple as possible and are available in black, blue, brown, grey, green, green-yellow, orange, red, slate, purple, white, and yellow.

What are the other Names for These Wires?

These wires are also called jumpers, jumper wire, or DuPont wire.

What Colour Should I Choose?

Jumper wires come in a variety of colours, but colour means nothing. The red jumper wire is technically the same as the black jumper wire. However, colour can differentiate connection types, such as ground or power. However, colours provide differentiation of connection types. For example, red is earth, and black is energy. It works for you!

What Makes Our Products Unique?

We offer premium jumper wires for all versions. Our affordable products are perfect for connecting sensors and modules to the Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and more!

Types

Jumper wires are generally available in three versions:

  • male-to-male jumper
  • male-to-female jumper
  • female-to-female jumper

There are also two types of heads: the square head and the round head. The difference between each is the end of the thread. The male end has a protruding pin that allows it to be plugged into an object, while the female end is not but is also used for plugging.

Male connectors are plugs and have a solid pin for the job. On the other hand, a female connector is called a jack and has a conductor with a hole to receive a male pin. The male-to-male jumper wire is commonly used.

How to Choose a Jumper Wire?

Now that you know the three types of wires and their functions, what type of head should you use. This includes your head shape, but it may vary depending on your head type. For example, male-to-male jumper wires are recommended to connect the Arduino Uno pins to the breadboard. However, if you connect directly to the ultrasonic sensor, go with the male-to-female jumper.

What are the Typical Uses of Jumper Wires?

  • Jumper wires are typically used with breadboards and other prototyping tools to help switch circuits.
  • These coloured threads help change the circuit as easily as possible.
  • Electrical control is carried out by installing a jumper wire in the circuit.
  • Furthermore, it stops the operation and opens the circuit, which does not work with the normal wires.
