What are Dimmers?

Dimmers are tools that are used for the purpose of lighting and also used for the purpose of controlling light at a moderate level. There are some steps that are compulsory when we want to install a dimmer for the purpose of lighting. Always keep in mind these instructions when you are going to replace the light switch with a dimmer switch. These steps are as follows;

Switch off the main power.
Detach the cover or plate.
Take out the wires and attach them to the old switch.

Switch off the main power

The first step when you are installing any switch or dimmer is to switch off the main power supplier. In this way, you will stay secure and safe from any electrical shock or current. Bare hands also cause an issue, and safety is our first priority.

Take out the wires from the old light switch

In this step, we remove or take out all the wires which are connected to the old switch. This work is done with very care and attention because every wire which is connected to the light switch is again will be attached to the dimmer switch at the same place. Screwdrivers are also compulsory in performing this task.

Attachment of the new dimmer

This is the main step in which we attach the new dimmer switch at the place of the light switch. Attach all the wires carefully for the proper functioning of the dimmer. Remind the colors of the wires and attach the copper wire with the switch in the perfect place.

Attach the plate

In this step, attach the plate which covers the extra wires in the wall box. So, it is also very protective from any electrical hazard. Now, you will use the dimmer switch for lighting without any problem.
